COLUMBIA,
S.C. - The Allen University women's soccer team put up a valiant effort on Thursday afternoon posting 14 shots and one goal, but falling 3-1 at home to Toccoa Falls College (Ga.) from the Southeastern Freight Lines Soccer Complex.
Junior forward Shakeryah Passmore scored the lone goal for the Yellow Jackets putting one in the back of the net as she outran the Toccoa defense down the field to get Allen on the board in the 78th minute of action.
However, it was not enough in the end as Toccoa scored two goals near the end of the first half before adding an insurance tally midway through the second half. Toccoa only outshot the Jackets just 8-6 in the first half and only 11-8 in the second as Allen set a season-high in shots with 14.
Passmore led the Allen offense attempting 6 shots and scoring once while also just missing scoring a goal within the first 30 seconds of the match. Junior midfielder
Acacia Small also played well attempting 5 shots with 3 on goal while freshman goalkeeper
Jaden Keys again played well making 9 saves on 12 shots.
Allen falls to 0-10 on the year while TFC improves to 4-7. Allen will remain home to host conference foe Edward Waters on Sunday at 2 PM.
