Christian Shines in Debut as Allen Defeats Lane, 75-64

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Stanley Christian tallied 21 points and seven rebounds in his Allen debut to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 75-64 victory over Lane College Tuesday night in Adams Gymnasium.

Allen had arguably it's best shooting performance of the season as the Yellow Jackets shot 54% from the field, 55% from three and 71.4% from the free-throw line for the contest. 

Christian shot an efficient 9-11 from the field to lead Allen in his first contest as a Yellow Jacket. Andre Baker also had a standout performance as he logged 20 points while shooting 6-9 from three and 7-11 from the field. 

Darius Williams effectively orchestrated the Allen offense as he notched 10 points and nine assists for the game.

Allen has now won two of it's last three games after starting the season 0-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Allen was led by Baker and Reginald Reynolds in the first half as the sharp-shooting duo combined to shoot 5-7 from three and 6-9 from the field. Christian also had a stellar first half as he notched eight points and four rebounds. 

The Yellow Jackets led every second of the first half despite being out-rebounded 15-24.

Allen displayed excellent ball movement as the Yellow Jackets tallied 10 assists on 11 made baskets in the first half. 

Christian made his presence felt in the second half with a series of highlight dunks. The Virginia Beach, Va., native registered 13 points and three rebounds to lead the Yellow Jackets in the second frame. 

For the game, Allen accumulated 24 assists on 27 made baskets. The Yellow Jackets also had a strong performance defensively as they held the Dragons to 37.7% shooting from the field and 23.1% from three.

Allen will look to stay hot Saturday when it hits the road to face Albany State.
