ATLANTA - Allen University managed to cut a double-digit lead, but could not find the end zone in the final quarter falling short, 21-12, to Clark Atlanta on Saturday at CAU Panther Stadium.

AU (3-3) trailed 21-6 before David Wright found Beau Harrington for a 12-yard score to cut the deficit 21-12 in the third quarter. However, the Yellow Jackets failed to score on their next four drives to close out the game.

Wright passed for 280 yards connecting 21-of-38 pass attempts for one touchdown. After CAU (2-4) led 14-0, Wright put AU on the board with a 1-yard run to narrow the lead 14-6. 

Herrington rushed for 97 yards on 18 attempts (5.4) and hauled in six receptions, including one for a touchdown, for 39 yards. Jamal Jones led all receivers with eight receptions for 134 yards.

Gary Bourragem, Dahlil Wilkins, Demarcus Jones each finished with six tackles apiece and James Dargin registered an interception to lead the defense.

The Panthers were led by Elijah Odom, Drakar Jerry, and Rodney Lewis.

Odom completed 18-of-31 pass attempts for 207 yards for two touchdowns and one interception. Jerry led CAU with seven receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown while Lewis anchored the defense with 11 tackles (10 solo) four tackle for loss including two sacks. 

Darren Stephens had two receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown. Josef Douglas rushed for a team high 50 yards on six attempts (8.3 avg.) for the Panthers.

Next up, the Yellow Jackets will travle to Due West, S.C. to face Erskine on Saturday, October 23. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
