Allen University

Eric Pack Headshot

Eric Pack

Eric Pack was named the head coach of the Allen University wrestling program in 2019. Entering the 2026–27 season, Pack begins his fourth year as Allen's head women's wrestling coach, having established the program prior to the 2023–24 season, and his eighth season at the helm of the men's program.

During the 2025–26 season, Pack recruited and coached women's wrestler Isis Severe, who became an NCAA National Qualifier and earned Second Team All-Conference Carolinas honors. In addition to Severe's individual success, the women's wrestling team recorded six dual-match victories, securing its second consecutive winning season. During the 2024–25 campaign, the women's program posted an 8–3 overall record in just its second season of competition.

Academic success has also been a cornerstone of Pack's programs. In April 2026, five Allen wrestlers were named NWCA Scholar All-Americans. Additionally, Allen produced a Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference selection following both the 2023–24 and 2024–25 seasons.

Following the inaugural 2023–24 women's season, Allen had five wrestlers earn All-American honors. After establishing just the second HBCU women's wrestling program in the nation, Jillian Lackey and Cathia Timas both earned All-American recognition. Lackey finished as the NCWA National Runner-Up at 109 pounds, while Timas placed fourth at 143 pounds. On the men's side, James Dagin, Alex Dorce, and Michael Jackson also earned All-American honors.

During the 2022–23 campaign, Pack led the men's wrestling team to 14 dual-match victories while coaching two All-Americans and qualifying seven wrestlers for the NCWA National Championships.

Before coming to Allen, Pack spent 15 seasons as an assistant coach at Newberry College, primarily working with the upper weight classes. He helped lead the Wolves to the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championship runner-up finish, three top-five finishes at the NWCA National Duals, eight NCAA Regional Championships, four ECAC Championships, 75 NCAA National Qualifiers, 38 NCAA All-Americans, seven NCAA National Finalists, and three NCAA Individual National Champions.

Pack also served as the head coach at Swansea High School in Swansea, South Carolina, where his team finished as the SCHSL Class 3A state runner-up in 2017. During his tenure, he won six region championships, coached two individual state champions, and produced numerous state placewinners.

As a wrestler, Pack earned All-American honors at Bakersfield Junior College before finishing his collegiate career at NCAA Division II Anderson University (S.C.).

Pack received his Bachelor of Science in Sports Science from Anderson University in 2001 and earned a Master of Arts in Administration and Leadership from Jones International University in 2012.

Pack and his wife, Loteria, have twin daughters, Lauren and Mariah.
