CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Allen University Men's cross country team placed 17th overall at the Queens City 8K Open held at McAlpine Park in Charlotte on Friday.

NAIA Reinhardt University (Ga.) won the men's meet that consisted of various D-2, D-3, and NAIA teams from around the southeast region. SC State was the lone D-1 team to compete finishing 11th while Claflin was 12th and SIAC foe Savannah St. was 14th. Lenoir-Rhyne had the top finisher in a time of 25:26.

The Allen men were led by sophomore Daquan Brock and his 40:44 time in the 8K to place 132nd. Sophomore Jabari Moss followed Brock with a time of 48:19 while freshman Zalyn Myers came next for AU in a time of 49:13. Fellow freshman Rolik Jackson then finished in 49:37 while sophomore Preston Conner crossed the line in 49:49.

The men will next race down at Coastal Carolina on Friday in the Chanticleer 8K Challenge.
