Men's Cross Country Compete in First-Ever Postseason

MACON, Ga. - The Allen University men's cross country team finished 14th out of 14 teams at the SIAC 8K Cross Country Championships on Friday morning from Macon, GA. The Cross Country Championship is the first postseason tournament that Allen has been able to compete in since joining the SIAC Conference during their current transition to NCAA Div. II. 

Morehouse College (Ga.) won the men's meet finishing ahead of Benedict and Central St.
Allen finished just behind Lemoyne-Owen and Lane College for 12th place. Donald Kibet of Benedict won the 8K in a time of 24:50.

Sophomore Daquan Brock led the way for the Allen men finishing in 60th place out of 87 runners in a time of 39:15. Freshman Cece Bailey then followed Brock up coming in 2nd on the team and 69th overall in 42:43 while sophomore Jabari Moss came in right behind three minutes later in 72nd in 45:36. 

Freshman Zalyn Myers then came nest in 83rd place in 49:51 while sophomore Preston Conner finished right behind in 84th in 50:07 to complete the scoring for Allen.
Freshman Rolik Jackson also competed for the Yellow Jackets running a time of 50:38.

The cross country teams will now ready for the start of the track and field season.
