Ruben Rivas is entering his first season as an Assistant Coach with the Allen University women's soccer program in 2025.
Prior to arriving at Allen, Rivas has spent time as an assistant coach at the high school, club, collegiate, and semi-professional levels. His background includes stops as an assistant coach at Newberry College, assistant coach at Juventus Academy in Miami, Florida, a varsity assistant coach at Irmo High School in Columbia, South Carolina, and an assistant coach with Soda City FC where he won two National Championships in the UPSL. Additionally, Rivas spent three years with with the Coerver Elite program. He has also served previously as the head coach of the U15 squad at Lexington Soccer Academy. Rivas holds a C license from the United States Soccer Federation.
Before entering the coaching ranks, Rivas had an accomplished playing career at multiple levels. While playing with CD Aguila U14 in El Salvador, Rivas won three state championships and was named the best right back in the league. He later went on to attend Dutch Fork High School in Irmo, South Carolina and helped the team achieve a top 10 ranking in the state. Rivas played collegiality at Lander University, where the squad was ranked among the top 10 teams nationally, and then as a semi-pro in Los Angeles, California with Juventus FC.
